Minimum trading days

4 min readLesson 41

What counts as a trading day and why the rule exists.

Each 2-Step evaluation phase requires at least 4 trading days. A trading day is any day, counted in Central European time, on which you open at least one position.

What counts

  • Opening a position at 23:30 on Monday Central European time counts for Monday.
  • Holding a position through Tuesday without opening anything new does not make Tuesday a trading day.
  • A pending order that fills on Wednesday counts for Wednesday.

Why the rule exists

It shows that results come from a repeatable approach over several sessions, not from one lucky trade. It also discourages risking everything on a single day.

If you hit the target early

If you reach the profit target in two days, the phase is not yet passed. Keep trading carefully on two more days, with small positions if you like, while staying inside the loss limits. A small trade with a tight stop is enough to count a day.

The 1-Step and consistency

The 1-Step has no minimum days. Instead it has a consistency rule: your best day's closed profit must be no more than 50% of your total profit. Going over it is not a breach; you simply keep trading until it is met.
